Dr. Shakeeka Misher has spent nearly two decades caring for women, from labor and delivery units to home births to fertility care. Then her own body began to change. She didn’t feel like herself, but her labs came back normal and she was told it was just stress.
That experience sent her into the research, made her an advocate for herself and her patients, and eventually led her to found Thryva Wellness in El Paso, a practice built openly on her Christian faith, down to the prayer station inside.
In this conversation with Tiffany Etterling, Shakeeka shares why nursing taught her to keep faith out of the room, what changed when she stopped hiding it, and how she rebuilds trust with women who have felt dismissed.
It’s a conversation for women in midlife and for the people who love and work alongside them.
